Plantation Lodge

Individuality is a major feature of Plantation Lodge, the small, owner run lodge is surrounded by coffee plantations and the famous "Green hills of africa" that already Hemingway found so inspiring.
The lodge is in a perfect location for the Northen safari circuit and is a short distance from the entrance to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Tarangire and Lake Manyara national parks, and just a short journey from the Serengeti.
Accomodation is in small cottages, all decorated with an indivudal flair. Dining at Plantation lodge is a key part of the day. The lodge grows their own vegetables, salads, herbs and fruit. This means that the products from the kitchens are healthy, untreated and particularly tasty.
Guests can enjoy a stroll in the gardens or simply laze around the pool.

  • The Lodge is located on the outskirts of Karatu on the lower slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater - a leisurely 2 or 3 hours drive from Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport and a 45 minute drive from Lake Manyara Airfield

  • All rooms have their own style and are en-suite
  • There is also a group house, with four double suites, all en suite and a large dining room. This is ideal for a family or large group
