Day 1

Arrive Cape Town International airport. On arrival you will be met by a representative who will hand over your detailed travel digest and talk through your self drive trip. They will also assist you with collecting your hire car.
Drive into Cape Town & stay overnight at the Winchester Mansions Hotel for a four night stay. The hotel has beach front location & is just a short distance from the Waterfront with easy access to restaurants, shops and bars.

Day 2

Spend the day exploring Cape Town.
Spend a second night at Winchester Mansions Hotel

Day 3

Spend another day discovering Cape Town and the surrounding area. Perhaps take a drive into the winelands, only a short distance away. Overnight at the Winchester Mansions Hotel

Day 4

Final day to explore or to catch up on some shopping in the Waterfront malls.

Day 5

Commence your journey, with your first stop at the Auberge Burgundy, set in the historical heart of Hermanus, the hub of the famous Whale Route and has spectacular views of the Walker Bay. The Auberge offers the best of both worlds, it has all the atmosphere of the old fishing village and is within walking distance of a craft market, boutiques and quaint shopping malls while at the same time it has the salt sea air of one of the most magnificent eco-destinations in the world - the cool blue sea of Walker Bay is within 50m of our front door.

Day 6

Full day exploring Hermanus and the local area.
Overnight Auberge Burgundy

Day 7

Commence your journey to The Thorntree Country House, in Klein Karoo. All our rooms are luxurious, spacious en-suites with air-conditioning and are equipped with TV (M-net and satellite channel), a safe for storing valuables and an honesty bar. The stylish bathrooms are fitted with elegant twin basins. From the saltwater swimming pool, visitors can enjoy unspoilt views of the picturesque Schoemanshoek Valley and relax in the peaceful natural surroundings.

Day 8

Leave Thorntree Country House to head for Knysna. Why not stop at the Cango Caves and Cango Wildlife Ranch on the way to Knysna. Staying at Elephant Hide, the Lodge overlooks the Knysna Lagoon and the Outeniqua mountains. The theme of the Lodge is one based on natural beauty with stone and wood architecture combining to give that comfortable earth feel.

Day 9

Take the day to explore the Knysna area.

Day 10

Today you will continue your journey from Knysna onto safari at Kariega Main Lodge, a Malaria free & Big 5 private reserve. Kariega Main Lodge offers a relaxed and friendly environment to enjoy the African bush. All the log chalets are air conditioned, with en-suite bedrooms, and large private viewing decks. Each has a spacious lounge and living area which is great for socializing before retreating to the privacy and comfort of your bedroom. The lodge has been expertly integrated with the surrounding bush to create a natural environment where the guests can enjoy traditional meals in the restaurant or boma, a drink at the bar or a quiet a swim in the pool.

Full day at Kariega Main Lodge, with game drives & activities

Day 13

Drive to Port Elizabeth and return your car before catch an onward flight to Johannesburg. Connect onto your international flight or extend your trip with a beach extension to Mozambique or Mauritius.
