Day 1

Transfer from Johannesburg or your previous destination to Mateya Safari Lodge. Enjoy afternoon activity, such as game walk or late afternoon game drive with sundowner. Back to the camp for dinner and overnight

Day 2

Early breakfast and depart on morning guided bush walk, returning to the camp for lunch. Afternoon at leisure, relaxing, walking or bird watching. Afternoon gamedrive with sundowner and bush dinner. Return to camp for overnight

Day 3

Breakfast and transfer to the airstrip for your return flight to Johannesburg or connect for your onward safari

Access and Distance

• Madikwe Air charter in conjunction with Federal Air offers a daily shuttle flight from Johannesburg to Madikwe airstrip. This flight departs Johannesburg at 11h15 and lands in the reserve at 12h15. On the day of your departure the flight departs the reserve at 12h30 and land at Johannesburg International at 13h30. A Mateya Safari Lodge representative will welcome you and transfer you to the Lodge. This is approx. 10 minutes drive. Alternatively the distance by road from Johannesburg is 320km, a journey time of approximately 3 1/2 hours

• Five individually designed luxury air-conditioned thatched suites with private plunge pool and en-suite bathroom complete with a secluded open-air shower. Each suite blends with its natural surroundings and offers uninterrupted views of the waterhole and plains
