Luxury Blue Train and Golfing Break

Day 1

Fly with Virgin Atlantic overnight to Johannesburg. Met on arrival and transfer to the beautiful city of Pretoria. Check into the 5* Illyria House for one night on a B&B basis. Remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 2

After breakfast you will be met and taken on a tour of this city known for its streets lined with Jacaranda trees. The tour includes includes Voortekker Monument, Church Square, City Hall, State Theatre & Opera House, and the Sir Herbert Baker designed Union Buildings - the State President’s offices. After a lunch break, continue to the train station in time for snacks and drinks before a mid afternoon departure on the Blue Train. Sit back and enjoy the ever-changing vistas. Dinner and drinks are included before returning to your suite to fall asleep to the gentle rhythms of the moving train.

Day 3

Awake to a full breakfast before arriving into Durban station. After disembarking you will be transferred to the Zimbali lodge for the next two nights stay on a B&B basis (We include a voucher to the value of R550 per person to use at the Restaurants). A full day to explore this beautiful area or play your first round of golf at the Zimbali Golf Club which include green fees and cart hire.

Day 4

After a leisurely breakfast the golfers will enjoy a second round of golf (with pre-arranged tee off times). Alternatively if you are a non golfer why not use your R760 voucher towards some of the wonderful spa treatments on offer at the Camelot Spa.

Day 5

Leisurely morning soaking up the African sunshine before your early afternoon transfer to the station or your return trip north. Dinner and overnight in your suite (includes all local drinks and a surprise gift)

Day 6

After enjoying your breakfast aboard and the arrival into Pretoria. You will have time to do some last minute shopping for those ‘must have’ presents and souvenirs in downtown Pretoria. Continue on to the Elephant Sanctuary at Hartbeespoort Dam for an included 3-course lunch before your afternoon activity. Enjoy interacting with these magnificent creatures with a walk ‘trunk in hand’ with endless photographic opportunities. From there you drive to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK (or why not extend your stay with a few days on Safari in the world famous Kruger National Park).
