What to do

Vilanculos Island has a various amount of activities which are available for you to enjoy and can be organised at the Casa Rex Hotel.
Diving/Snorkelling - some of the best dives can be found around the Bazaruto Archipelago. The stunning scenery which can be found in the Archipelago is what makes diving and snorkelling here fantastic.
Game Fishing - If you are a fisherman (or women) this is the place to be for Game Fishing, the area being world reknowned and is worth every penny.
Whale and Dolphin Watching starts in Jul and ends in Sept. The Bazaruto Archipelago surrounding Vilankulo is visited by migrating hump-back whales which mate and calve in the warm waters.
Dhow trips to the Bazaruto Archipelago is one of the most relaxing trips to the islands. Go snorkelling, strolling along the white, deserted beaches on one of the islands, enjoy the beautiful views, or go swimming in the lagoon.
There are also a variety of guided walks for those who are interested in the history of Vilanculos and the spectacular beaches which all teh islands hold.

Casa Rex has an excellent restaurant with full A la Carte menu available for Lunch & Dinner offering a combination of cuisines.
They concentrate on sourcing local, fresh produce and as a result several of the dishes use seafood caught in the tropical waters just off shore and the divine peri peri chicken is testimony to the incorporation of the Portuguese heritage
