Our Two Migrations Safari offers one of the most spectacular game viewing opportunities anywhere on Earth (best between June and October). See the amazing wildebeest migration in Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve and then enjoy the flooding of the Tarangire river migration in Tanzania. For those not wanting to leave Tanzania without seeing the world heritage Ngorongoro Crater, then why not add an optional extension to your safari and spend a couple of nights here before heading home. This is game viewing at its best in two countries within East Africa!
This award winning authentic bush camp, Porini Mara Camp is located in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy covering some of the best wilderness areas in the Mara eco system and with all the animals for which the Mara is famous for. All gamedrives will be in an open-sided 4x4 safari vehicle allowing you the opportunity of morning, afternoon and evening game drives in the exclusive Ol Kinyei and Naboisho wildlife conservancies, a vast tract of wilderness in the Mara eco-system where visitor numbers are restricted to avoid the over-crowding of vehicles that can occur elsewhere. You will also be able to enjoy game walks as well as sundowners and night game drives. With 6 classic safari tents the camp is small and intimate, providing all clients with a real safari experience. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and safari shower. The food at the camp is prepared by an experienced chef and the daily table d’hote menu includes home baked bread, salads, excellent soups, and good quality main course and dessert.
Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge is set on the northern tip of the Tarangire National Park, which has stunning views over a water hole and located only fifteen minutes from the main Tarangire road. The National Park is best known for Zebra and wildebeest congregating on the perennial Tarangire river, especially in the dry seasons from June to the end of October and again from January to March. Photography along the river presents endless opportunities for great pictures of families of elephants coming down to drink, with youngsters often playing and cavorting in the cooling stream under the watchful eye of their mothers. The park is mostly rolling country, with swamps on its eastern boundary and the “upside down tree or the Baobab is plentiful and open woodlands and palm fringed river, and Umbrella shaped Acacia trees dotting the grasslands and hillsides are quintessential Africa.
