Commercial Manager I am the Commercial Manager for Africa Sky and look after all of our hotels and safaris that we offer. I was born in Kenya and have personal knowledge of this wonderful country. I have traveled extensively over Africa including South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Tanzania, Zanzibar and Lamu. I’ve stayed in luxury 5* properties, camped out in the wilderness, stayed in private villas on luxury islands and rested in banana leaf huts on deserted beaches -all of which offer something unique and exciting.

I'm often asked where my favorite destination in Africa is, how can you reply to a question like this, it is impossible - my answer - each country is fantastic and each offers a completely unique experience. The only answer is to visit & see for yourself!

Africa Specialist Africa is my favourite area of the world and I am very passionate about the destination. I have travelled extensively around Kenya, and even worked there for 6 weeks! That's how much I love it. I have also visited South Africa, another beautiful place and travelled around the Western Cape. The view is amazing from Table Mountain! I have also recently visited Zanzibar and that was just WOW!

In Kenya I particularly enjoyed staying at the Amboseli Porini Camp and Nakuru, where I saw numerous Rhino which was so exciting. I also especially enjoyed the Mara, where the photo opportunities are endless. Tsavo East is very accessible from the Mombasa Coast & one of my favourite memories was staying at Satao Camp where I had a tent right by the watering hole, sitting on my terrace as the sun was coming down, watching a herd of giraffe coming in for some water, amazing!!

South Africa, is also an amazing place, full of colourful characters. I enjoyed the delights of the Wine lands, visiting Stellenbosch, and staying in Hermanus.

Zanzibar was amazing, it is such a beautiful place to visit and the people are so friendly, my favourite area was Nungwi where I stayed at the Z hotel, a boutique on the beach and I can say it definitely was. It's a great alternative to Kenya for a beach holiday.

Nikki Meyer

Africa Specialist Nikki hails from East London (South Africa that is, not Shoreditch!) and joined us in August 2008. She's intimately familiar with South Africa, Namibia, Mombasa and Nairobi, having spent over a decade specialising in those areas with various travel companies. Her dream destination in southern Africa is Namibia, although she also likes Mauritius. Nikki's knowledge of South Africa is encyclopaedic and very topical, so with her help, you'll get every insight you need for a perfect Safari or beach holiday.

Africa Specialist Travelling is something that I adore, with so many sights to see, different cultures to admire and food to taste, is really what appeals to me. When I finished college, I took a diploma in travel to get to know the different aspects of the industry, which extended my knowledge and passion to work in a travel company.

I have been to many different countries but have always been interested in Africa and was lucky enough to visit Zanzibar, which out of all the places I have seen has to be one of my favourites; this island is so cultural and beautiful. At every hotel, the staff were so friendly which made the stay so much more relaxing.

Africa Specialist Having been born and raised in Central and Southern Africa, I have been very fortunate to have travelled quite extensively through this vast continent.

It never ceases to amaze me at how diverse the destinations are. I was very fortunate to work in some amazing places and if pushed for a favourite I would have to say that my time in South Luangwa National Park would be it. To watch the excitement on peoples faces when they came across a wild animal for the first time will stay in my memory forever.
