Palmwag Rhino Camp

Palmwag Rhino Camp is situated in the 1-million-acre private Palmwag Reserve in Damaraland in north-west Namibia, between Etosha National Park and the Skeleton Coast. The camp is run in conjunction with the "Save the Rhino Trust" - a non-profit conservation organisation that has been working in this area for 20 years and a portion of every guest’s revenue goes to the Trust. This eco-aware tented bush camp uses solar panels to power lights and the classic safari style bucket showers, it is also mobile allowing for easier access to Rhino’s if they should move into other areas of the concession.
This area is home to a surprisingly high variety and density of wildlife. The area supports the largest free roaming population of Black Rhino in Africa as well as a healthy number of desert adapted Elephants. There are good populations of Hartman’s Mountain Zebra, Giraffe, Oryx, Springbok, Ostrich, Lions, Cheetah, Leopard, Spotted and Brown Hyena. Bird life is diverse and prolific with most of Namibia’s endemics present

It is highly recommended for a 3 night stay to enjoy the vast Palmwag Reserve

Transfer from your Windhoek or your previous destination to Palmwag Rhino Camp. Arrive in time for lunch or afternoon tea. Afternoon activity. Back to the lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 2
Early breakfast and depart on morning activity, either a walk or drive. Back to the camp for lunch. Afternoon at leisure. Afternoon tea is followed by afternoon game drive, guided walk or visit to nearby village. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight
Day 3
Early breakfast and depart on morning activity, either a walk or drive. Back to the camp for lunch. Afternoon at leisure. Afternoon tea is followed by afternoon game drive, guided walk or visit to nearby village. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight
Day 4
Breakfast and transfer to the airstrip for your return flight to Windhoek or connect for your onward safari

Access and Distance

  • Palmwag Rhino Camp is best accessed via air from Windhoek taking approx 1 hour 40 minutes or is 20 minutes from Damaraland Camp

Accommodation

  • 7 comfortable tents with en-suite bathrooms with toilet and classic safari style bucket shower
  • All tents have outside area with seating and table
