Kirkman’s Kamp, with its spectacular views of the unspoilt wilderness and the Sabi Sand River, is regarded as one of the best loved lodges in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Kirkman’s Kamp has a traversing area of 6300 hectares and is renowned for having the best Big Five game viewing in the country. The Camp has exceptional trained rangers & Shangaan trackers who ensure that guests see a huge volume of game and quality sightings.
Originally built in the early 1920s, the colonial atmosphere of gracious style and luxury has been retained, and guests step back in time upon entering the original homestead. Each of the 18 air conditioned cottages has a private veranda and ensuite bathroom with separate showers and free-standing baths.

It is highly recommended for a 2 night stay to enjoy Kirkman’s Kamp and as a base to explore the Sabi Sands

Day 1
Transfer from your previous destination to Kirkman’s Kamp. Enjoy afternoon game drive.. Back to the camp for dinner and overnight
Day 2
Early wake up and depart on morning game drive. Arrive back at the camp for breakfast. Rest of the morning at leisure, relaxing on your private veranda or by the swimming pool. After lunch depart on a late afternoon game drive with sundowner at scenic spot. Return back to camp for dinner and overnight
Day 3
Early breakfast and depart on morning game drive, returning to the camp for breakfast. Depart Kirkman’s Kamp for your onward destination

Access and Distance

  • A 5-hour drive on good roads from Johannesburg to the Shaw’s Gate of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Federal Air offers daily scheduled flights from Johannesburg International Airport to Skukuza Airstrip followed by a short drive to Kirkman’s Kamp
