Jongomero Camp is an intimate and luxurious tented camp located in the remote Ruaha National park. The team of qualified guides will design your daily wildlife viewing program to both suit you, the changing seasons, and the movements of wildlife ensuring you the best possible experience whilst in Ruaha, by whatever means is most appropriate.
The dining and living areas are both original and very comfortable offering a great vantage to take in the sights and sounds of the African bush that surrounds the Camp, as does the natural rock pool for those hot days.
The public area is beautifully located in the deep shade of an ancient African Ebony tree with uninterrupted views of the Jongomero River bed. Dining is an adventure: a combination of table d’hote, elegant buffets, al fresco dinners under the stars, campfire cooking and classic safari picnics. International cuisine with a truly East African flavour. The Camp also has a filtered swimming pool overlooking the seasonal Jongomero River. The ideal escape from the hot days
Itinerary Day 1 Depart Dar es Salaam on the morning flight to Ruaha National Park arriving in time for lunch and a siesta. In the late afternoon, set out on a game drive in an open-sided vehicle, following the course of the Ruaha River in search of wildlife. Stop for a sundowner drink on the way back and return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 A full day in Ruaha National Park with a morning and afternoon game drive.
Day 3 Our final day in Ruaha and with over 475 species of bird represented and all of the major African mammals present, we must make the most of the opportunity. A full day game drive is a recommended option, taking a picnic lunch and driving North to the Ruaha hills and the river plains in search of the excellent wildlife on display. A generous picnic lunch and the day to roam makes for an unhurried drive and we can focus our attention on the smaller game often overlooked during the short drives
Day 4 Depart after breakfast for your onward journey
